Beijing Municipal Health Commission and Public Health Institute of Canton Sarajevo jointly hosted an online seminar on "Roundtable on Healthy Cities" on Wednesday. This was one of the sub-forums of the 5th Capital Mayors Forum of CEEC and China. The theme of the online forum was "Joining Hands to Fight the Epidemic and Promote Resilient Cooperation". Health experts from home and abroad delivered speeches on healthy city construction, epidemic prevention and control measures and the role of traditional Chinese medicine in epidemic prevention and control.

(Bao Hua) Two hours is not long, but with various exchanges and communication with experts from various countries, it was an opportunity for mutual learning. Regarding traditional Chinese medicine, we have also reached a consensus and have the next step of cooperation planned. I think this is a good platform to deepen the cooperation in health care between Beijing and various countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and contribute to the health and well-being of all people.

More than 100 participants attended the online conference, including representatives from the health sector of Beijing, health department leaders, experts and scholars from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Hungary, Greece and other countries. Participants said that given the continuous spread of the pandemic around the world, it is necessary for countries to work together to firmly promote international cooperation in health management.

Representatives said that faced with the global spread of COVID-19, open cooperation is very important. In face of the pandemic, Beijing will actively cooperate with capital cities in Central and Eastern Europe and join hands in the fight. Beijing is looking forward to using the platform of this forum to promote more pragmatic cooperation with capital cities of CEEC and achieve a higher level of mutually beneficial and steady cooperation.
