The "Beijing·A Global City" Short Video Contest was officially kicked off on October 12 in Beijing.
Yu Haiyong, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, said that by promoting the development of a center for international exchanges, Beijing is committed to building the city into a world-class metropolis that is harmonious and livable, a primary stage for China's major diplomatic and foreign affairs activities, a central hub leading global science and technology innovation, an important window to show Chinese cultural self-confidence, diversity and inclusiveness, and a center for international exchanges showing China's capacity of participating in the global governance system.

Justa, a producer from Poland, said Douzhir (a traditional Chinese fermented drink) and herself were just like coffee and hutong that were only perfectly mixed in Beijing. "I love the integration of tradition and modernity, nationality and globalization of the city. Beijing is my home, and where I will realize my Chinese dream!"
The event is aiming to collect short videos about activities or scenes that best represent the internationality of Beijing. It specifies that all video submissions shall be not longer than 2 minutes, and all local citizens, enterprises and foreigners who love Beijing are encouraged to participate. The collection will last till December this year.
The contest organizer will set up an evaluation panel and the review results will be published after the solicitation. Finalized contestants will be awarded with the first, second and third prizes, while awards for Best Creative and Best Organization, etc. will honored too. Winners will receive the award certificates and subsidies for making short video.
This short video contest is directed by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by Guangming Online.
