To build a solid barrier against the epidemic in Beijing in the face of the severe and complicated situation, the party leadership group of the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office attached great importance to the requirements of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Working Committee of agencies directly under Beijing Municipal Committee, sending party members and officials to the front line to support the epidemic response in a well-planned and coordinated manner. Since April 30, three batches of party members and officials, totaling 13 people, have been sent to assist in epidemic control in communities (villages). They served as anti-covid workers to assist in PCR tests, data statistics, policy communication, material arrangement, license issuance, hotline answering, etc. With a high sense of political responsibility and mission, they united and cooperated with staff, volunteers and residents in subdistricts and communities (villages), making their own contribution to Beijing's epidemic control and demonstrating the sense of mission of foreign affairs office's staff on the front line of the fight against the epidemic.

This is the second time he has been assigned to communities for epidemic control. The temperature was high on the day he arrived. As an old hand, he volunteered to wear the medical PPE gown (in white) and quickly went to work. He also shared his experience during the first time with other volunteers to help them better adapt to all sorts of tasks. Optimistic, open-minded, and hard-working as he is, he has gradually become the beloved "big brother" and the backbone of the team. Everyone called him "the loveliest Da Bai (Baymax)" when he was not around. Talking about the two community work experiences, one in cold winter and this time in hot summer, he said that as long as staying committed to his original aspiration, neither heat nor coldness would beat him.

Yang Zhihong has been working in Gongchen Sub-district, Fangshan District since April 30, responsible for the verification of Covid-19 related information.

The routine steps of code scanning, temperature measuring, verification and registration might seem a little dull, but turned out to be quite stressful, because there is no room for negligence. He always stood upright at the checkpoint, performing his duties meticulously. Over time, residents passing by became familiar with this volunteer, always gentle but never letting his guard down. People had doubts at first, but gradually they became willingly cooperative. Both residents and community workers were working towards the same goal of fighting the virus. The Party secretary of the community took notice of this change, and recognized his efforts via the WeChat group message. Yang only said, "I just did my job well."

On May 10, he was assigned by the community to lead a team for PCR test on his own. Aware of the huge responsibility, he got well-prepared ahead of time with emergency plans made for each step, and went through the already familiar procedures in his mind again and again. At the testing site, he made arrangements for code scanning, temperature measuring, disinfection, and order maintenance, and explained policies to residents... In half a day, the number of steps recorded on his WeChat movement totaled more than 20,000. He said that there are no bystanders in the fight against the epidemic.

The day she arrived was the last day of the six-day mass testing in Chaoyang District, and the community staff were exhausted after working around the clock for several days. Sun Wei put on the protective suit and joined the work right away. As a new hand, she quickly adapted to the job after a short period of adjustment: ID card scanning should be quick and recognition errors should be checked in a second; no mistakes should be made in scanning when changing tubes; those who take the first sampling tube (nicknamed "tube chiefs") should be kept an eye on, as the order should be maintained. Every day, Sun Wei and community workers were doing ordinary jobs, but by cheering each other, they kept working hard and serving the residents with sweat and smiles. Sun Wei said that it was not until she put on the protective clothing that she understood the responsibilities of the job, and that it is everyone's duty to protect our home.

When Yao Chunli arrived, the community was rated as a high-risk area with a lot of pressure on epidemic prevention and control. She fought together with other community workers on the front line day and night. Days of high-intensity work caused periodontal inflammation, which made her entire face swell up and her right eye barely open. She kept working in the community wholeheartedly despite the suffering. Finally, together with the community staff, she witnessed the moment when the Beilangdong Community was downgraded as a low-risk area. She said that that moment was worth all the hard work.
