On February 15, under the guidance of Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT BEIJING), Beijing Renewable Resources and Resale Goods Trading Association had a discussion on the cooperation in the renewable resource industry with the CEO of Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce, who was on an official trip to Beijing with the mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Wu Liyu, secretary general of the Association briefed the guests on Beijing's renewable resource industry. He said that efficient recycling of resources leads to substantial reduction of carbon emissions, which is of great significance to the green transition in socio-economic development and the attainment of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. In recent years, Beijing has rolled out a raft of policies to develop the renewables industry and a standardized recycling system. The Association has guided businesses in reclaiming all recyclables and encouraged residents to be more environmentally conscious and sort their waste. A big data platform for renewable resources, developed by the Association's members, has enabled real-time, end-to-end monitoring of the recycling process.
Wu Huajun, Secretary of CPC General Branch of Beijing Renewable Resources Utilization and Development Group, gave a brief introduction on China's policies to promote the recycling and utilization of discarded electrical appliances and electronics.
Khash-Erdene, President of Ulaanbaatar Chamber of Commerce, said that the renewable resources branch of the Chamber organizes companies to take over the city's recycling business, but a solution that best reconciles environmental benefits and business profitability is still being sought and the recycling system has not yet taken shape. She expressed willingness to learn from Beijing's good practices in the recycling industry through more bilateral interaction and cooperation, and welcomed member companies of the Association to visit Ulaanbaatar.
