On the morning of August 29, Yin Li, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, met with Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Spain.
Yin stated that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has made systematic plans for further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization. The proposed measures, such as steadily expanding institutional opening up, will bring more opportunities to enterprises and investors around the world. In recent years, Beijing has maintained robust economic growth with dynamic sci-tech innovation and rich historical and cultural resources. The city is accelerating its development as an international innovation center and a global pacesetter in digital economy, while continuously advancing the development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Andalusia, as Spain’s most populous region with a substantial economic aggregate, presents broad prospects for cooperation. Beijing is ready to work with Andalusia to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain through pragmatic sub-national cooperation. He hoped that the two sides will enhance intergovernmental exchanges and open up cooperation channels across various fields. This includes strengthening economic and trade exchanges by expanding cooperation in finance, information, technology, and business services and promoting two-way investment. Emphasis should also be placed on cooperation in sci-tech and emerging industries such as renewable energy, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, biomedicine, and digital economy. Additionally, there should be greater exchanges in education, culture, sports, and youth, as well as expanded tourism cooperation, with the aim of establishing each other as significant tourism destinations.
Moreno highlighted the shared goals in development and significant potential for cooperation between Andalusia and Beijing. Andalusia is willing to seize opportunities offered by China to enhance cooperation and experience sharing with Beijing in fields such as economy and trade, sci-tech innovation, tourism, and education, thereby jointly elevating their friendship to a higher level.
Marta Betanzos Roig, Spanish Ambassador to China, Ma Hui, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Zhao Lei, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended the meeting.
