This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of South Korea-China diplomatic ties as well as the China-South Korea Year of Cultural Exchanges. From July 25th to July 29th, teenagers from Fengtai District and Gangdong District in Seoul co-hosted a one-week online workshop. Cui Xulong, Deputy District Mayor of Fengtai, and Lee Soo-hee, head of the Gangdong District, both addressed the opening ceremony.
Students from the Two Districts in Discussion
Since Fengtai District and Gangdong District established friendly ties in 1995, exchanges and visits among teenagers have become flagship activities to strengthen the bond between the two districts. During this workshop, 34 students from the two districts exchanged their ideas on topics such as the conservation of historical sites and their dreams through dialogues, group discussions, presentations, etc. via video link, promoting mutual understanding, friendship and trust.
With epidemic prevention and control conducted on an ongoing basis, Fengtai District will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with cities such as Hull in the UK and Katsushika in Japan through online communication. These activities will continue to deepen and strengthen relations between Fengtai and its counterparts, and improve Beijing's role as the national center for international exchanges.
