On July 20, 2022, a painting and calligraphy event that celebrated the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Haidian District and Nerima City, Tokyo, Japan, was held at the Tempo Art Museum.
In the event, calligraphers and painters improvised some works of painting and calligraphy, which expressed their sincere wishes for the friendship between the two places. The ink wash paintings with vivid images and profound artistic conception and the calligraphy works with vigorous and elegant strokes conveyed the profound friendship between Haidian District and Nerima in the form of traditional Chinese art. After the event, works of well-known calligraphers and painters will be sent to Nerima as souvenirs of the 30th anniversary, and will be exhibited in local communities, showing the everlasting friendship between the two places.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, and the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Haidian District and Nerima City, Tokyo, Japan. Since the twining, the two places have carried out exchange programs such as visiting groups of local residents and summer camps for youths. In addition to this painting and calligraphy event, the two places will carry out a series of commemorative activities such as sending congratulatory letters, virtual visits between teenagers, and short video exchanges.
