Advanced Training Program for the “The Best Nurse” Delegationfrom Russia Concludes at Beijing Friendship Hospital

From November 18 to 22, the short-term advanced training program for“The Best Nurse” award-winning delegation of the All-Russian Professional Skills Competition was successfully held at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University. Led by Ampleeva Tatiana, President of the Moscow Nursing Society and Head of the Nursing Department at the Litvyanov Medical Institute, the delegation comprised 23 outstanding head nurses and specialist nurses who had won “The Best Nurse” title over the years. During their visit to the hospital’s branches in Xicheng, Shunyi, and Tongzhou districts, the delegation engaged in a series of lectures, clinical observations, and discussions, gaining an immersive experience of the development achievements in China’s nursing sector. Through these efforts, the program served as a bridge for cross-cultural exchange in nursing between China and Russia.

Forthe five-day program, the Nursing Department of the hospital meticulously designed the curriculum, combiningcutting-edge theoretical perspectives with clinical practice.The program also featured targeted trainingin different forms, including thematic lectures and clinical observations. For the lecture series, experts from the Medical Engineering Department were invited to deliver presentations on interdisciplinary collaboration and integration among medical engineering, pharmacy, and nursing. In addition, nursing specialists delivered sessions on various topics, including full-process nursing quality management; the development of nursing outpatient services and studios; refined nursing in operating rooms; standardized training programs for new nurses; intelligent management of the CSSD and nursing education; career development and promotion pathways for nurses; and the application of digital health technologies in nursing. These lectures delved into innovative concepts and practical outcomes in specialized nursing and nursing management, giving delegation members an in-depth understanding of the scientific, comprehensive, and refined nature of China’s nursing management system.

During clinical observation, the delegation visited key clinical departments across the hospital’sbranches, including the Digestive Endoscopy Center, Outpatient Blood Collection Center, Central Operating Room, and the Department of Intensive Care Medicine. In the outpatient areas, they learned about counter services, multifunctional integrated self-service devices, and holographic touchless self-service machines, experiencing firsthand the convenience brought by smart healthcare. In the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, they closely observed advanced clinical nursing operations using life-support systems and learned from best practices in infection control and information-based management of intensive care medicine. In orthopedic wards, they experienced in personthe achievements of smart ward development,and explored the advanced MDT team model supporting rapid patient recovery. At the Hemodialysis Center and Central Sterile Supply Department, they conducted in-depth discussions on specialty nursing protocols and full-cycle quality control processes. Throughout the visits, delegation members remained highly engaged, took detailed notes, actively asked questions, and participated in thoughtful exchanges. They spoke highly of Beijing Friendship Hospital’s standardized and intelligent nursing management system. These exchanges of ideas and experiences broadened their professional perspectives and strengthened their practical skills.

The Russian delegation expressed that the program was highly rewarding. The advanced experience of Beijing Friendship Hospital in nursing management, specialty techniques, and smart nursing provided valuable insights for their future work. They were particularly impressed by the hospital’s patient-centered philosophy and meticulous management model.

The success of this program is an epitome of Beijing Friendship Hospital’s commitment to international exchange and cooperation, as well as a fruitful exploration of complementary development in the nursing field of China and Russia. The delegation not only gained systematic knowledge of the hospital’s best practices in nursing management and clinical care but also established friendships with the nursing team. Building on this program, nursing professionals from both countries will continue to deepen their collaboration, fostering closer ties while advancing nursing development and achieving greater outcomes together.
