On the morning of June 23, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who is currently on an official visit to China, explored the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, accompanied by Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing.
At the Center’s exhibition hall, Wong observed the motion control demonstration of the Tiangong 2.0 Robot. He then proceeded to the Beijing World of Robots exhibition hall, learning about the preparations for the World Robot Conference and observing applications of intelligent robots in various scenarios, including industrial manufacturing, integrated medical and elderly care, biomimetic robots, teleoperation, and home life. He also inspected the robots that had competed in the humanoid robot half-marathon and engaged in in-depth discussions with the head of the innovation center.
Wong congratulated Beijing on its fruitful achievements in the robotics industry and expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with Beijing in advanced robotic technologies.
Yin noted that, with abundant sci-tech talent and vibrant innovation, Beijing is accelerating the development of future-oriented industries such as robotics. Adhering to the principles of government facilitation, market leadership, enterprise participation, application-driven development, open-source sharing, and mutually beneficial cooperation, Beijing has established the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center to pool global resources, conduct research on key generic technologies for embodied intelligent robotics, and build an ecosystem. This aims to promote innovation in robotics technology for the benefit of humanity. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of China-Singapore diplomatic relations, Beijing stands ready to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Singapore in sci-tech innovation, further strengthening bilateral ties.
