In recent years, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality has well implemented the plans of the central government to reform the managerial system of national industry associations and chambers of commerce, ensuring they assume the duties of localized management of foreign affairs after decoupling from the administrative organs. Besides, the office has improved services and explored the common ground in development between the industry associations and chambers of commerce and the capital's economy and society. Also, the following work has been done for the capital's high-quality socio-economic development: promoting policies of "two zones"* and "three platforms"* through training programs and surveys; interfacing with competent authorities; guiding and encouraging national industry associations and chambers of commerce to utilize such high-level platforms as CIFTIS; conducting foreign exchange and cooperation.

During the 2022 CIFTIS, national industry associations and chambers of commerce staged a number of forums and exhibitions, where domestic and overseas guests from government agencies, academia, businesses, international organizations and embassies in China were invited to have professional discussions on hot fields in trade in services and a series of results have been released.
1. Proposing policies and recommendations on cutting-edge areas. Hosted by China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation (CEATEC), the 2022 Automotive Capital Market Forum released the Annual Report on the Development of Automotive Industry, elaborating on the current development of China's automotive industry, where it is heading and how to promote its development. In the First China Academician Forum on Realizing Peak Carbon and Carbon Neutrality Through the Development of Industries Related to Environmental Protection staged by the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, a special service section dedicated to industries related to environmental protection was established to contribute to the implementation of strategies of realizing peak carbon and carbon neutrality and more industrial cooperation on environmental protection with other countries. China Software Industry Association held the Forum on Changes in Future Mobility in the Context of Realizing Peak Carbon and Carbon Neutrality, proposing the initiative of building "An Ecological Community for Green and Smart Mobility" and calling for enhancing the cooperation between government agencies, industry associations, research institutes and enterprises.

2. Setting up high-level platforms to match the needs of all sides. To jointly safeguard global food security, the China National Association of Grain Sector built an international platform to share successful practices in bolstering the resilience of the food supply chain. The China Association for Promoting UN Procurement established a one-stop trading platform for international public procurement, where a complete set of services was available for Chinese enterprises to supply for international organizations like the UN. China Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Association (CIQA) and international industry organizations launched an initiative to establish a mechanism to promote all-round cooperation with global inspection, testing and certification agencies, providing platforms for exchange and trade between international industry organizations, national authorities, professional institutions and practitioners.

3. Deepening practical cooperation to foster industrial development. At the First Health and Industrial Technology Innovation Service Conference hosted by China International Cooperation Association of SMEs (CICASME), relevant administrative authorities proposed the establishment of the Alliance for Promoting Scientific and Technological Innovation in the Healthcare Industry as well as a Plan to Facilitate Commercialization of Innovative Technologies of Medical Institutions. China Association for NGO Cooperation initiated the Carbon Neutrality Fund Project to help improve the industrial structure. China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events to explore the possibility of professional exhibitions and conferences in the medical and healthcare industry, thus boosting trade in healthcare services.
