Beijing Dragon Design Foundation and other NGOs donated medical masks, goggles and protective gowns to the Italian Embassy in China on March 25, 2020. Emanuele de Maigret, Minister Counselor and Head of Economic and Commercial Office, Embassy of Italy to the PRC, thanked the NGOs for their donations. Noting the long-standing interactions between Chinese and Italian people, he said “2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Italy. Italy provided help and support to China when it was first hit by COVID-19, and China’s helping hand to Italy embodies the deep friendship between the two peoples.”

Quoting the well-known line that “distance cannot separate true friends who remain close even when thousands of miles apart,” the representative of Beijing Dragon Design Foundation said, “Italy is the birthplace of renaissance, whose bountiful fruits still benefit us today. We hope the NGOs can further boost the friendship between the two peoples, and promote closer cooperation in battling the epidemic.”
