As the COVID-19 epidemic is spreading quickly across the world, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing), leveraging its advantage in effective liaison with overseas business communities, works to facilitate communication between Beijing-based enterprises and foreign organizations in procurement of anti-epidemic medical supplies, in an endeavor to contribute to the global fight against the virus.
As of March 19, CCPIT Beijing had sent letters of sympathy to 72 commerce chambers and trade organizations in 44 countries hit by the epidemic, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, Germany, France, Serbia and the US. It has also recommended anti-epidemic products produced by Beijing-based enterprises upon those countries’ request and assisted in the procurement of urgently needed protective gears and medical equipment. It has provided product catalogues and instruction manuals to the Montenegro, Uruguay, Qatar, Kuwait and Costa Rican embassies in China at their request, and answered their procurement inquiries.
CCPIT Beijing has received replies from 23 commerce chambers and trade organizations from 22 countries, including the US, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Finland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Iran, who thanked CCPIT Beijing for providing product information. Some foreign commerce chambers and enterprises have sent their procurement demands for protective gears and medical equipment, about 80 million pieces/sets in total. CCPIT Beijing has forwarded the product catalogs to potential producers, helping them get in touch with domestic suppliers to discuss technical and logistics details, and assisting in resolving relevant issues.
