Recently, the 2026 Training Program on International Exchange Capacity Building for Beijing-Based Social Organizations was successfully held. The event was co-hosted by the Office of Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and the Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau. It aimed to build a platform for social organizations to learn from and exchange with one another, empower their international engagement, and promote people-to-people bond, integrated interests, and mutual understanding. Heads and international cooperation staff from 61 social organizations, including the Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges, attended the training.

The training program, centered on serving China’s overall diplomacy and the high-quality development of the capital, featured customized courses for participating organizations. Experts and scholars were invited to analyze the methods and approaches for social organizations to participate in global governance, as well as strategies and practical skills for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of international communication. Drawing on real-world cases, the program guided participating social organizations to standardize their operation and management and ensure both development and security.

The training program also invited representatives from the China Association for NGO Cooperation, the Peaceland Foundation, and the Beijing Guangming Charity Foundation to share their practical experience in participating in global governance and effectively telling the stories of China and Beijing on the international stage.

Chen Mo, Secretary-General of Beijing Taikang Culture and Art Foundation, praised the practice-oriented training content, in-depth case analysis, and highly pragmatic policy guidance, noting that the program provided valuable pathways for social organizations to participate in global governance. Song Ximei, Head of Rescue Programs at the Sany Foundation, said that the training was highly practical. The compliance procedures for international engagement, cross-cultural communication skills, foreign-related risk prevention and control, and other content were closely aligned with their actual needs.
