Recently, the World Monuments Fund (WMF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau and opened its Beijing Representative Office—the first China-based office dedicated to cultural heritage preservation set by a foreign NGO.
Founded in 1965 and headquartered in New York, WMF is a global nonprofit organization committed to protecting historic sites and cultural traditions of exceptional significance. Going forward, it plans to participate in and support international cultural exchange events in Beijing, such as the Beijing Central Axis World Heritage Forum.
