As you exit China Int’l Exhibition Center Station on Beijing Subway Line 15 and look northwest, a vast complex of buildings comes into view. This is the Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center (CIECC), hailed as the “purple-gold ribbon”. As the largest single-building and the most fully equipped comprehensive convention and exhibition venue in Beijing, CIECC, completed at the end of 2024, will hold its first exhibition in February - the China International Auto Service, Products and Equipment Exhibition (CIAACE). The exhibition will take place from February 21 to 24, and the venue’s operations team is making every effort to prepare for the event.

Spacious and Beautiful Venue with Convenient Transportation

The sheer size of the CIECC is immediately striking upon entry. The entire venue comprises one convention center, one hotel, nine exhibition halls, and three entry halls, with an indoor exhibition area of approximately 210,000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of about 50,000 square meters. The convention center occupies about 50,000 square meters above ground, with a 15,000-square-meter conference area designed to accommodate 9,000 people.

From above, the building gleams in purple gold. The venues are seamlessly connected, flowing like ribbons, symbolizing the Belt and Road Initiative and representing China’s global connectivity. The fishbone-style layout of the CIECC is well-aligned with Phase I of the New China International Exhibition Center.

With the support of the traffic department in Shunyi District, bus stops such as “Hualikan” on Yudong Road have been officially put into operation, located 230 meters from the East Entry Hall of the CIECC. Shuttle services connect the East, South, and North Entry Halls of the CIECC with China Int’l Exhibition Center Station and Hualikan Station on Subway Line 15, as well as the Shun 62 bus stop. The venue also offers a parking lot with over 3,000 parking spaces. These various transportation options make it easier for visitors to access the exhibitions.

To help visitors navigate with ease, more signs have been installed around the venue with the support from departments such as the Shunyi District Urban Management Committee. Inside the venue, indoor navigation is provided through intelligent devices, with all equipment and software currently undergoing testing.

Doubled Size with Multiple Product Launches

As a high-standard inaugural trial event hosted at CIECC, CIAACE also marks the first exhibition of the year for the automotive products industry. The exhibition covers a wide range of categories, including auto modification and intelligent electronic products, recreational vehicles and accessories, outdoor camping products, automotive cockpit electronics and accessories, car detailing and maintenance, lubricants, and car wash equipment. During the event, nearly 100 summits, forums, competitions, and other activities will also take place.

Notably, with an area of nearly 200,000 square meters, this exhibition doubles in size from last year. CIAACE is expected to host nearly 6,000 exhibitors, showcasing over 180,000 products. Among these, 5,000 are new products, accounting for 80% of the industry’s annual new offerings. This exhibition will meet the procurement needs of 150,000 professional buyers and nearly 100,000 general visitors, driving demand for automotive products and related services.

Seven Exhibitions Usher in an Economic Boom

Exhibitions serve as both the “barometer” and the “wind vane” of economic development, as well as a catalyst for economic growth. The head of the CIECC revealed that, in addition to the CIAACE, six other major exhibitions will be held in the first half of 2025, including Beijing International Animation & Comic & Game Carnival (BACC), China Home Furnishing Expo, Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR), Energy Storage International Conference and Expo 2025 (CIES), China International Machine Tool Show 2025 (CIMT), and the 11th Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition.

Among them, the CIMT, to be held in April, will make full use of both the CIECC and Phase I of the New China International Exhibition Center, with a total exhibition area exceeding 310,000 square meters. This milestone will set a new global benchmark for industrial machinery expos, with the number of exhibitors and visitors expected to exceed 300,000. It is reported that a number of international exhibitors have already booked their flights to China in advance.

Looking forward, as more international, specialized, and emerging exhibitions are hosted in Beijing, the CIECC will also attract more high-level international festivals, competitions, performances, and conferences to the city. This will drive the development of Beijing’s convention and exhibition industry while providing the essential infrastructure to boost social and economic development. Moreover, the CIECC will significantly enhance the overall competitiveness of Beijing’s convention and exhibition sector and become a new hallmark for Beijing’s international exchanges.
