Yanqing District: Prioritizing the protection and utilization of the Great Wall and building an international Shixia Pass Valley
In response to the important instruction from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s reply letter to the villagers of Shixia Village in Badaling County, Yanqing District actively promotes the Great Wall culture, tells compelling stories about the Great Wall, and improves international services of Shixia Pass Valley. To improve the tourism experience of foreign visitors, the Village History Museum, nearby homestays, and cafes offer bilingual introductions about the Great Wall culture in English and Chinese, and set up POS devices that support foreign currency payments. Meanwhile, the district also takes the visits of Cuban Prime Minister and Armenia delegation as an opportunity to encourage more international friends to understand and protect the Great Wall.
