The Second "Beijing·A Global City" Short Video Contest, hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by China Radio International (CRI) Online of China Media Group, officially opened in a cooling tower of Big Air Shougang in Shougang Park on the evening of August 24.
The goal of the contest is to capture the vibrancy of Beijing's progress through lenses and showcase its international image via videos. The contest calls for high-quality short videos on the global city of Beijing in terms of serving major diplomatic events, enhancing facilities and systems, pooling international high-end resources, and improving international services. It aims to showcase Beijing's achievements in strengthening its role as the center for international exchanges in a comprehensive manner and promote the city's international image through a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view, as part of the efforts to welcome the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The contest adopts targeted and public solicitation, open mainly to Beijing citizens, foreigners working and living in Beijing, and institutions based in Beijing. Both individuals and teams can sign up for the contest. Participants should upload their videos of around 2 minutes to the new media platform Kuaishou with the hashtag (#Beijing·A Global City#) and send the original file, its title and brief introduction, and author information to the organizing committee's email at beijingvideos@cri.cn. The deadline for submission is October 20. The contest hosts will then organize an expert panel to review the videos and honour winners with the first, second, and third prizes as well as excellence awards. Winners will receive award certificates and bonuses and their videos will be displayed on the official websites of the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and CRI Online as well as various new media platforms.
