The Second "Beijing·A Global City" Short Video Contest was officially opened on August 24th. The contest was hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by China Radio International (CRI) Online of China Media Group. The opening ceremony was held on a cooling tower of Big Air Shougang in Shougang Park.

Letters of Appointment Presented to Expert Judges

The contest collects high-quality short videos that showcase Beijing's achievements in strengthening its role as the center for international exchanges. These videos focus on topics such as serving major diplomatic events, enhancing facilities and systems, pooling international high-end resources, and improving international services. It aims to promote Beijing's international image through a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view, thus embracing the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

An Award-Winner of the First Contest Shares Her Creation Experience

The contest adopts targeted and public solicitation mainly open to Beijing citizens, foreign friends working and living in Beijing, and institutions based in Beijing. Both individuals and teams can sign up and submit a short video clip lasting around 2 minutes. Participants can upload their videos to the new media platform Kuaishou with the hashtag "#北京·国际范儿" (#Beijing·A Global City). Additionally, they need to send the original file, its title and a brief introduction, and author information to the organizing committee's email at beijingvideos@cri.cn.

Some Foreign Journalists Participate in Themed Shooting Event in Shougang Park Before the Opening Ceremony

According to reports, the deadline for submission is October 20, 2022. The contest host will then organize experts to review the videos and honour winners with the first, second, and third prizes as well as excellence awards. Winners will receive award certificates and bonuses, and their videos will be displayed on the official websites of the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and CRI Online as well as various new media platforms.
