Due to the efforts made by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, "Walking Davos", which was initiated by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) as an important measure to support Beijing in building the center for international exchanges, was held in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center for the first time. To ensure the success of the event, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has coordinated with the NDRC, the Tongzhou District Government, and the World Economic Forum (WEF). With the focus on the four leading functions of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center and key areas and major projects such as the Central Green Forest Park, Universal Beijing Resort, and Canal Business District, it invited certain multinational companies, carefully designed visiting routes and themes of exchanges and seminars, and facilitated the signing of cooperation projects, pooling international industrial resources for the quality development of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center.
On August 23, senior executives of multinational enterprises visited the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center to experience the development and changes of the area, and had in-depth exchanges with the government representatives. A number of cooperation agreements were reached.
"Walking Davos" is a government-enterprise exchange and cooperation platform initiated by the NDRC and the WEF in an innovative way of cooperation. The event was attended by more than 100 entrepreneurs from over 60 multinational companies both online and offline, including industry leaders such as IBM, SAP, Samsung in the field of digital economy, Standard Chartered and Mizuho Bank in the financial sector, ABB, Schneider Electric in advanced manufacturing, PwC in the field of business services, and Merck and Stryker in the field of biomedicine. Their cooperation with Beijing has a solid foundation and huge potential, which not only conforms to the strategic positioning of the capital city, but also meets the high-quality development requirements of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center.
At the government-enterprise dialogue, relevant officials from the NDRC, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and Tongzhou District Government had in-depth exchanges with entrepreneurs, briefing them on the development, policies, and measures of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center, with the aim of pooling international industrial resources for the high-quality development of the area. Entrepreneurs actively offered advice. They have more confidence and stronger willingness to develop in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center.
Four cooperation agreements were reached at the event between the Tongzhou District Government and multinational enterprises and organizations. The government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation with the Energy Foundation China, establishing a strategic partnership for sustainable development and having in-depth exchanges and cooperation on green finance, green transportation, and green energy; It signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Endeavor China, leveraging Endeavor’s strength in entertainment, sports and culture IP to build the world's first Endeavor City urban sports center in Culture and Tourism Area of the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center; It also signed agreements with CallisonRTKL and Haskoll China to support the two companies in settling in Zhangjiawan Design Town.
