The Forum on Trends and Latest Developments of Digital Trade was held in Beijing on the morning of September 1 during the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). The forum was jointly hosted by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and People's Daily, and organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the People's Daily Digital Communication Co., Ltd.

Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce, Xu Xiaolan, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Lin Fusheng, Vice Chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, Zhang Guihua, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of CAST and Cheng Qingmin, editorial board member and Secretary-General of People's Daily attended and addressed the Forum.

Participating representatives of all parties agreed that we should fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy on all fronts to promote the innovation-driven development of digital technology and the coordinated governance of digital economy and society and continue to strengthen and expand China's digital economy and trade, fostering a new development pattern for the global digital economy.

Brian Arthur, a famous economist, and Jiang Xiaojuan, a professor from the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences delivered keynote speeches at the forum.

As one of the key events of the 2022 CIFTIS, this forum, under the theme of "Empowering High-Quality Development of Trade with Digitalization", aimed to advance the establishment of a new pattern of global cooperation in digital trade.
