The World Robot Conference 2025 opened in Beijing on August 8, themed “Making Robots Smarter, Making Embodied Agents More Intelligent”. As outlined in the 2025 Beijing Government Work Report, the city is implementing an “AI Plus” action plan that encourages the adoption of AI in more scenarios across key sectors such as healthcare, education and advanced manufacturing. Embodied AI, as the physical manifestation of artificial intelligence, will be pivotal in driving AI empowerment across various industries. So, what exactly is the “AI Plus” action plan? Let’s take a closer look.
“AI Plus” Action Plan
This is an action plan launched by Beijing in July, 2024, covering the period from 2024 to 2025. The plan focuses on driving breakthroughs in major projects, better aligning resource supply with demand, and promoting demonstrations of special-scenario applications. It aims to substantially boost independent innovation in large AI models and foster standardized, scalable, and cross-sectoral application pathways, and promote the deep integration of large AI model innovations with industries, thereby accelerating the AI-driven transformation across a wide range of sectors.
