Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, met with a delegation led by Georges-Louis Bouchez, President of Belgium’s French-Speaking Reformist Movement and Member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, in Beijing on April 8.

Yin said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and the Belgian leadership, the China-Belgium all-round partnership of friendly cooperation has continued to make new progress. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Yin said China stands ready to work with Belgium to fully implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen inter-party exchanges and subnational cooperation, and promote greater progress in China-Belgium and China-EU relations.

Bouchez said that Belgium supports free trade and advocates multilateralism, adding that Belgium is willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogue with China and to expand mutually beneficial cooperation between the EU and China.
