The Beijing International Premium Products Event for “Big Market for All: Export to China”, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, was held at WellTown, Tongzhou District on the afternoon of February 4. Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, and Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Beijing, delivered remarks and jointly launched the event.
Wang Wentao stated that hosting the “Big Market for All: Export to China” series of events is China’s proactive move to expand voluntary opening-up and increase imports. The Ministry of Commerce stands ready to work with all parties to ensure the success of the series, turning China’s new development into fresh opportunities for countries around the world. He noted that a wide range of import promotion activities will be organized to build efficient matchmaking platforms for global sellers and Chinese buyers, so that high-quality imported products could enter and sell well on the Chinese market. The series will enhance supply-demand matching and bring more high-quality goods and services to the Chinese market, making them accessible to Chinese consumers on e-commerce platforms, shopping malls, supermarkets, commercial areas and pedestrian streets. The ministry will work closely with the guest country of honor to deepen cooperation between trade promotion institutions of the two sides and encourage the business community to open fast-track channels for exports to China. This will enable enterprises from all over the world to benefit from the vast business opportunities brought by China’s modernization drive. As a key gateway for foreign trade and import expansion, Beijing will receive support from the Ministry in its efforts to strengthen its role as the Four Centers, establish itself as a pacesetter for opening up, enhance both the quality and efficiency of trade, and play a greater role in the “Big Market for All: Export to China” initiative.
Yin Yong stated that Beijing is steadily advancing its development as a global consumption center. With a vast market, efficient logistics, and an open institutional environment, the city has produced fruitful results and demonstrated clear advantages in attracting high-quality international goods and services. Going forward, Beijing will continue to promote reform and development through opening up, deepen the integration of import expansion and consumption promotion, and strive to become the premier gateway for global high-quality goods and services to enter the Chinese market. The city will support the import of high-quality consumer goods and services, enhance the capabilities of the national demonstration zones for creative promotion of import trade, improve cross-border logistics systems, and strengthen open platforms such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). Beijing will expedite its efforts to foster a world-class business environment. Specific measures include implementing import support and foreign investment incentive policies, strengthening financial, legal, and other supporting services, and reducing entry barriers and operational costs, thereby better serving enterprises investing and operating in the city. Beijing will join Tianjin and Hebei to extend its influence across the country. By sharing customs facilitation and market promotion resources, the city will build synergy in import and investment attraction, contributing its efforts to turn China’s enormous market into a major source of global opportunities.
