The Plenary Session of the 2025 ZGC Forum Annual Conference Convened

On March 27, the plenary session of the 2025 ZGC Forum Annual Conference was convened. Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee; Yin Hejun, Minister of Science and Technology; Hou Jianguo, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Li Xiaohong, President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; He Junke, Secretary of Party Leadership Group, Vice President in charge of daily work, and Chief Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology; Huang Xiaowei, Secretary of Party Leadership Group, Vice-President and First Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Women’s Federation; Li Xiuling, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress; and You Jun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Director of the Organization Department, attended the meeting.

During the session, Gérard Albert Mourou, 2018 Nobel Laureate in Physics; Martin Hairer, 2014 Fields Medalist; Li Xiang, Chairman and CEO of Li Auto; Dennis Gillings, Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the UK; Wang He, Founder and CTO of the Galbot; Serge Haroche, 2012 Nobel Laureate in Physics; and Xue Qikun, the 2023 State Preeminent Science and Technology Award Winner and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared their insights and the latest progress in scientific research, technology incubation, product development and industry trends across various fields, including laser science, mathematics, intelligent connected vehicles, biomedicine and humanoid robots.

The 2025 ZGC Forum Annual Conference was co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. It featured five major sections: forum meetings, a technology trade fair, a session for achievements release, frontier competitions, and other supporting events. The specific activities included the opening ceremony and plenary session, 60 parallel forums, the ZGC International Technology Trade Fair, the ZGC International Advanced Technology Competition and a special session for achievements release.

Leaders from relevant central departments and Beijing, heads of delegations from relevant provincial-level jurisdictions, heads of relevant international organizations, diplomatic envoys in China, as well as heads of relevant universities, research institutions, enterprises and financial institutions participated in related events.
