On the morning of February 18, Yin Yong, Mayor of Beijing, met with Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED).
Yin noted that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, China-UAE relations have achieved comprehensive development with fruitful cooperation across various fields. China’s economy registered stable performance with steady progress in the past year. The country has achieved solid advancement in pursuing high-quality development. Given its vast growth potential and opportunities, China will become an even more attractive destination for foreign investment. In recent years, Beijing, as the capital of China, has leveraged its rich sci-tech resources and adhered to an innovation-driven development strategy. As a result, the city’s high-tech enterprises have demonstrated growing technological competitiveness, driving high-quality development. Following the idea that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, Beijing has been pursuing both economic growth and ecological conservation, leading to significant improvements in urban and rural living environments. In addition, efforts have been made to foster a world-class business climate to provide international investors with a higher-quality investment environment. Yin expressed anticipation for deeper friendly cooperation between the two sides in sci-tech innovation, investment, culture, tourism, and other fields, aiming for higher levels of mutual benefit and new contribution to the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership.
Zaabi highlighted the frequent high-level exchanges between the UAE and China in recent years, which reflect the sound momentum of bilateral relations. He emphasized that Abu Dhabi is willing to serve as a gateway for Chinese investment into the Middle East and global markets, expand its business presence in Beijing, and facilitate two-way investment between enterprises from both sides. He also expressed a desire to deepen bilateral cooperation in such fields as investment, culture, and tourism, so as to further strengthen the friendly ties between the two nations.
Zeng Jin, Secretary General of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, attended the meeting.
