Yin Li Leads CPC Delegation to Visit Spain

MADRID, May 25 – At the invitation of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit Spain from May 22 to 25. During the visit, Yin held separate meetings with María Jesús Montero, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Spain, and Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE; José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Former Prime Minister of Spain; Esteban González Pons, Deputy Secretary General of People’s Party of Spain; José Luis Centella, President of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE); José Luis Martínez-Almeida Navasqüés, Mayor of Madrid; and Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, President of the Regional Government of Andalusia, among others.

Yin stated that China and Spain are important partners who share mutual trust. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, China-Spain relations have witnessed rapid development. China stands ready to work with Spain to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state by enhancing high-level exchanges and political mutual trust, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, and promoting people-to-people exchanges. The aim is to build China-Spain relations with strategic determination. To this end, Yin expressed hope that both sides would strengthen inter-party exchanges. Beijing, as the capital of China, will further exchanges and cooperation with Spain in various fields to contribute to the development of China-Spain relations.

In terms of developing relations with China, the Spanish side highlighted the broad consensus across various sectors in Spain that recognizes China’s irreplaceable international status and role. Spain is committed to expanding exchanges at all levels with China, deepening cooperation in fields such as economy and trade, science and technology, green development, and culture, and stepping up exchanges and coordination in international and regional affairs. These efforts aim to enhance China-Spain relations and China-EU ties.

Yin also visited Madrid and Seville to gain insights into urban governance and cultural center construction and attended the “Hello, Beijing” cultural exchange event to witness the signing of a cooperation agreement between BAIC Group and Denodo.
