On March 11, the second day of the second month on the Chinese Lunar calendar, known as Dragon Head-raising Day, the premiere ceremony of "Chinese Dragon Dance Around the World", a film of the 2024 Chinese Zodiac Flashmob in the United States, Mexico, and Peru, was successfully held at the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center. It represents a significant achievement of the cultural exchange mission organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism that visited the Americas during the Spring Festival to promote the Chinese New Year culture.

Throughout the Spring Festival, the zodiac-themed flashmob took place in four cities, including Beijing in China, San Francisco in the United States, Mexico City in Mexico, and Lima in Peru, attracting immense interest from local communities. The film, consisting of 26 flash mobs and 80 scenes, documents the collaborative performances of artists from China and abroad. It will be presented across various mainstream media and social media platforms in China and abroad such as People's Daily, China Media Group Mobile, Tencent Video, tv.sohu.com, toutiao.com, Youku, Kuaishou, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, continuously spreading the charm of Chinese New Year culture.

At the premiere ceremony, both Chinese and foreign guests watched the film, which tells the story of the "True Dragon Boy," a representation of the zodiac dragon. He embarks on a journey from China to the Americas amidst a series of ceremonial celebrations. From the Great Wall of China to the pyramids of Mexico, from the bustling streets of San Francisco to the coastlines and deserts of the Americas, the young boy engages in friendly dialogues with the Inca civilization of Peru and the Aztec civilization of Mexico, unveiling many shining facets of Chinese culture along the way.

The flashmob performance blending various artistic forms such as music and dance, took place not only on the streets of cosmopolitan cities but also at renowned cultural landmarks such as the pyramids of Mexico and the desert oasis of Peru. Mexican Mariachi violins, traditional Peruvian folk instruments such as panflute and drum, and Western instruments like the oboe, were incorporated into the performances to celebrate Chinese New Year and Zodiac culture.

The event also featured a variety of activities, allowing foreign guests to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of the Dragon Head-raising Day. They watched performances such as erhu solo Full of Joy and suona and Kung Fu fan performance Man Should Strengthen Himself, had haircuts, and tasted traditional Beijing snacks, experiencing the charm of Chinese traditional culture.
