The China Development Forum 2021 kicked off in Beijing on March 20, 2021.
At the forum, Beijing Municipality, Hainan Province and Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province introduced their measures to pursue higher-standard opening-up. Beijing, focusing on the background, measures and the achievements of the "two zones", elaborated on its unique strengths, innovations and progress in the building of the "two zones," and said that the city will press ahead with the work and make constant efforts to improve doing business environment. About 100 leaders from international organizations and foreign-owned companies like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Novo Nordisk attended the meeting. Beijing's introduction was well received. Attendees from home and abroad said that they were ready to participate in Beijing's development of the "two zones" and make full use of the relevant policies to share the dividends unleashed by the reform and opening-up.
The China Development Forum is hosted by China's State Council Development Research Center and organized by the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF). Since its inception in 2000, it has become an important platform for the Chinese government to conduct high-level exchanges and candid dialogues with businesses and scholars around the world on major issues of economic and social development in China and the world. The theme of this year's forum is "China on a New Journey of Modernization."
Yin Yong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Beijing, delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.
