Recently, at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a delegation of center-left political party members from Brazil visited Beijing. During their stay, the delegation went to Haidian and Fengtai districts, where they explored the Fengtai District Government Service Center and Kuaishou Technology respectively. Through on-site observations and exchanges, they gained first-hand insight into Beijing’s experience in optimizing government services and its achievements in developing the digital economy, thereby helping to build bridges for inter-party exchanges and industrial cooperation between China and Brazil.
At the Fengtai District Government Service Center, the delegation toured the 24-hour self-service hall, the Party-mass service center, the marriage registration zone, and the smart government service data center. Members of the delegation listened attentively to the briefings, took notes and recorded relevant information, and engaged in in-depth discussions with staff on topics including the management of self-service terminals, age-friendly upgrades to government services, the development of government data management platforms, and the application of government data. They were deeply impressed by the Center’s smart, convenient, and standardized services, and expressed their intention to draw upon these practices and deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of government services.

At Kuaishou Technology, the delegation first visited the Kuaishou exhibition hall, where they gained a comprehensive understanding of the company’s technological advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and video algorithms, as well as the real-world impact of its “short video plus live streaming” model in empowering the real economy and promoting cultural exchanges. Subsequently, at the Kuaishou broadcasting center, the delegation observed the full live-streaming process on site, including key technical aspects such as backstage directing and virtual studios, experiencing firsthand the company’s innovations in short video, live streaming, and AI applications. In addition, the delegation engaged in discussions with Kuaishou staff on topics including digital technology’s role in rural development, the development of creator support systems, and cross-cultural content dissemination. They noted that China’s innovative practices in the digital economy offer valuable insights for Brazil. In particular, Kuaishou’s combination of technological output and business model innovation demonstrates the vast potential for technological collaboration. The delegation expressed hope to foster more practical cooperation between Brazil and China in digital technology R&D and synergies within the cultural industry.
