A Commemorative event was recently held at the Dongcheng District Government Affairs Service Center to mark the 15th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Dongcheng District and Central District of Moscow, as well as the China-Russia Exchange and Discussion Roundtable. Li Weihua, Deputy Mayor of Dongcheng District, and Pisarenko Alexander, Deputy Governor of the Central District of Moscow, attended the event. Representatives from various departments of the Dongcheng District Government, including the Foreign Affairs Office, the Commission of Development and Reform, and the Finance Bureau, engaged in discussions with their Russian counterparts on related issues.
Since the establishment of ties in 2008, there have been frequent high-level visits between the two districts, resulting in fruitful outcomes in areas such as culture, economy and trade and education. The two sides have greatly enhanced mutual understanding and friendship by hosting events such as "Moscow Week", "Temple of Earth Fair Going Global – A Journey in Moscow", and "Beijing-Moscow Roundtable Forum", which were warmly received by the public.
During the roundtable discussion, the two sides acknowledged the highly productive relationship over the past 15 years. They both expressed willingness to broaden the scope of friendly exchanges, engage in practical cooperation, and elevate the relationship to new heights.
