Recently, the “Beijing Spring Festival Folk Customs Exhibition”, co-hosted by the Capital Museum of China and the Museum of Moscow, opened at the Museum of Moscow. Zhang Wei, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Russia; Wu Ming, Deputy Director of the Capital Museum of China; Zhelokhovtsev, Director of the First Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia; and Fursin, Head of the Moscow Department of Culture, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
Featuring 89 sets of artifacts, totaling 271 pieces selected from the collection of the Capital Museum of China, the exhibition is organized into three sections: Preparations for the Festival, Welcoming Good Fortune, and Celebration & Reunion. These displays offer visitors an immersive journey through the entire cycle of Spring Festival, from the 12th lunar month to the Lantern Festival, vividly showcasing Beijing’s diversified festive customs.
Minister Zhang Wei stated that the Capital Museum of China and the Museum of Moscow collaborated to convey Spring Festival greetings to the peoples of both countries, building a bridge of friendship and mutual understanding. The Chinese Embassy in Russia will continue to support cooperation between the two nations in the cultural and museum sectors.
One Russian guest noted that the exhibition offers Moscow residents a rare opportunity to experience Spring Festival culture firsthand, further deepening mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
The exhibition will run until May 31. During this period, the Museum of Moscow will also host a series of thematic lectures, cultural workshops, and interactive activities.
