On the evening of September 9, a reception was held at the Beijing Library to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway. Zhang Guoqing, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese Vice Premier, and Jonas Gahr Støre, Norwegian Prime Minister, were present and delivered speeches.

The Beijing Library is a cultural landmark designed by the Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta, which won the commission through an international competition in 2018. Its unique architectural aesthetics, well-designed reading spaces, functional integration, and green technology showcase a collaboration of innovative design between Norway and China. This project embodies the mutual respect, appreciation, and learning between the people of both nations.

As a multifaceted cultural complex, the library integrates functions such as knowledge dissemination, urban think tank, and shared learning. It has become a new hub of ethical and cultural life, serving as a reception hall for international cultural exchanges.
