On May 29, a handover ceremony of donations under the theme of "Silk Road People-to-People Connectivity" to boost the China-Cambodia friendship was held in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, China Workers' Center for International Exchange (CWCIE), China Foundation for Peace and Development Office in Cambodia, and National Union Alliance Chamber of Cambodia (NACC) attended the ceremony.

In response to the request from the NACC, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) donated supplies including water bottles and lunch boxes to Cambodia based on the actual needs of local workers. The representative of the NACC expressed gratitude for China’s assistance, stating that the donation has strengthened the friendship between the trade unions as well as between the workers of Cambodia and China. Moving forward, the NACC will continue to facilitate trade union cooperation between Cambodia and China, enhancing the iron-clad friendship of the two countries.

China hands over donations to Cambodia

The representative of the CWCIE emphasized the longstanding China-Cambodia friendship, which is marked by mutual support and assistance between trade unions and workers from both sides. This donation is an evidence to the mutual help and the collaborative efforts in environmental protection of the two organizations. We sincerely hope that this donation will contribute to the improvement of workers’ living conditions and the ecological environment in Cambodia.

The ACFTU and the NACC have maintained friendly engagements over the years, and remained committed to strengthening the exchanges between the trade unions and workers of China and Cambodia. Delegations have been sent mutually for discussions and communication, and joint actions have been adopted in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Through such cooperative endeavors, the two organizations have strengthened people-to-people exchanges, making positive contributions to further deepening the traditional friendship between the two peoples and advancing the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.
