To implement the important consensus reached at the San Francisco meeting between the heads of China and the United States on "a significant increase of direct flights between the two countries by early 2024", the competent authorities of the two countries have recently agreed to boost passenger flights. Starting from March 31, Chinese and US airlines will be able to operate a total of 100 scheduled passenger flights per week, with 50 flights each, up from the current 66. The move will better meet the needs of cross-border travel and further promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
