Themed "Chinese, joy and fun!", the "Chinese Bridge" World Chinese Contest for Foreign Primary School Students--the first Mongolian Regional Competition was held at the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Ulan Bator, marking the opening of this year's celebrations for International Chinese Language Day. After intense competition between 122 students from 14 schools, 25 finalists from 9 schools presented a fantastic Chinese cultural feast to the audience.

Chen Shuang, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Ulan Bator, said that these children represent the hope for furthering development of Sino-Mongolian relations, and will act as bridges for economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, organized by the Confucius Institute at National University of Mongolia, and co-organized by the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia, the competition aims to provide a stage for Mongolian primary school students to showcase their Chinese skills, thus stimulating their interest and motivation in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture.
