Ambassador Wang Wentian said that the Chinese government has enhanced its efforts to assist Cambodia with anti-epidemic supplies since the epidemic resurged severely in Cambodia in February this year. Beijing and other provinces and cities have extended a helping hand to Phnom Penh, which will contribute to Phnom Penh's epidemic prevention and control work.

Khuong Sreng expressed his gratitude to Beijing and other sister cities in China for donating anti-epidemic materials. He said that the Chinese government has provided generous aid to the Cambodian government since the outbreak of COVID-19. Phnom Penh attaches great importance to its friendship with Beijing. It will make the best use of the donated anti-epidemic materials and do its best to prevent and control the epidemic.

Beijing and Phnom Penh officially became sister cities in May, 2018. The two cities have had fruitful exchanges and cooperation in such areas as economy and trade and people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
