On August 5, the 2020 "Future Leader, Youth Ambassador" International Youth Online Summer Program opened. This is the first time for the summer program to go online. Nearly 1,000 participants from 34 countries in five continents will take part in the week-long event, discussing such hot topics as COVID-19, resumption of work and production, and waste classification.

The participants teamed up with each other via creative videos and were grouped based on five topics. The seven-day program features both online activities such as expert lectures, group discussion, case study, and literature search, and offline activities which require strict epidemic prevention measures. It will serve as a platform for the participants to learn from each other and play a role in social governance and international anti-epidemic cooperation.

Since its inception in 2014, the "Future Leader, Youth Ambassador" International Youth Summer Camp has been held five times. Through a diverse array of activities such as research projects and social practice, it brings together Chinese and foreign college students, allowing them to get a deeper understanding of China's history and culture and gain a full picture of the achievements China has made in its modernization drive. The program has won wide acclaim from these young participants.
