Dublin City Council elects new Lord Mayor

As Paul McAuliffe, Lord Mayor of Dublin, was elected to the Dail on February 8, 2020, he announced to step down as Lord Mayor. Deputy Lord Mayor Tom Brabazon was then elected the 351st Lord Mayor by Dublin City Council on February 24, 2020. 

Born in July 1970, Tom Brabazon is a member of the Fianna Fáil (the Republican Party) of Ireland. He was elected Dublin City Councilor in 2003 and Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin in June 2019. Tom Brabazon was invited to visit Beijing in November 2019.
