[Overview] Tel Aviv-Yafo is the economic, technological, commercial, and cultural center of Israel. Located on the Mediterranean coast in the western part of the country, the city covers an area of approximately 52 square kilometers and has a population of around 470,000.

[Politics] Tel Aviv-Yafo is governed by the City Council and the Municipality. The City Council consists of 31 members, who are elected by residents for five-year terms. The Mayor is also elected by popular vote for a five-year term. The incumbent Mayor Ron Huldai was first elected in November 1998 and re-elected in 2003, 2008, 2013, 2018, and 2024.

[Economy] Tel Aviv-Yafo’s key industries include finance, technology services, retail, media, and tourism. The city is a vibrant center for innovation and entrepreneurship, hosting approximately 70% of Israel’s high-tech startups. Global technology giants such as Google and Microsoft have established R&D centers here.

[Culture] Tel Aviv-Yafo boasts numerous cultural facilities such as theaters, concert halls, and museums, as well as the largest collection of Bauhaus-style buildings in the world. The city features a robust education sector, with Tel Aviv University being the largest institution of higher education in Israel.
