On January 24, an Air China flight carrying 278 passengers landed at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The arrival marks the successful inaugural flight of Air China’s nonstop route between Beijing and Abu Dhabi, and the first nonstop service between the two capitals operated by a Chinese carrier.
The route, operated by Boeing 787 aircraft with four weekly round trips, marks Air China’s first new international service in 2026. Its launch further strengthens the air connectivity between China and the UAE, providing a more efficient and convenient air corridor for bilateral people-to-people exchanges, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural interactions.
An Air China official said that the carrier had made comprehensive preparations to ensure the route’s smooth operation, covering safety, operations, and service. Experienced core flight crews have been assigned, dedicated operational support plans formulated, and cabin services enriched with cultural elements from both China and the UAE. These efforts are designed to deliver a safe, comfortable, and pleasant travel experience for passengers.
Industry insiders noted that the launch of the nonstop route represents an important milestone in China-UAE aviation cooperation. It is expected to enhance connectivity between the two capitals, promote tourism, business, and cultural exchanges, and inject fresh impetus into the two countries’ practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
