On May 24, Meindert Stolk, Vice Governor of South Holland, the Netherlands, led a delegation to Pinggu District to explore the development of smart agriculture.
The delegation visited various sites, including the Zhongguancun Agricultural Science and Technology Park Innovation Works, Smart Vegetable Factory, and Jingwa Science and Technology Demonstration Zone, where they learned about the achievements, agricultural technology, and automated food processing in the High-Tech Agricultural Z-Park. At the Digital Hall of Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Food Group Co., Ltd., Xmeats, and Livestock and Poultry Germplasm Resource Preservation and Testing Center, they exchanged experience in seed industry innovation and protected agriculture development. Additionally, the delegation enjoyed their visit to Bibo Island, where they gained a first-hand experience of Pingu’s leisure and cultural tourism amidst gentle breezes and rippling waters.
South Holland, a major economic hub in the Netherlands, has long maintained friendly exchanges with Pinggu District. There is ample space for bilateral cooperation due to strong complementarity in the agricultural sector. During discussions, the delegation expressed their willingness to take this visit as an opportunity to promote cooperation in agricultural technology and talent cultivation between the two sides, thereby achieving mutual development.
