On April 20, Dan Jørgensen, the Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy, and Thomas Østrup Møller, the Ambassador of Denmark to China, visited the Beijing District Heating Group Co., Ltd. (BDHG) to gain insights into Beijing’s practice in central heating and the use of clean energy.
Dan Jørgensen spoke highly of China’s positive initiatives toward achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. He acknowledged a strong alignment between the goals of Denmark and China in addressing climate change, efficient use of energy, and new energy applications. He pointed out that central heating was an important part in the reform of energy use, and that BDHG had made crucial contributions in urban heat supply, energy saving and emission reduction. He expressed hope to intensify exchanges and cooperation with China in such areas as technology research, new energy applications, and heating management, and work with China to make central heating cleaner and more efficient.
Tian Jinfeng, Party Secretary and Chairman of BDHG, and Liu Rong, Vice President of China District Heating Association (CDHA), attended the meeting.
