To celebrate the first anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Nicaragua, two buildings in the Canal Business District of Beijing's Municipal Administrative Center (BMC) lit up in the main colors of the two countries' national flags on the evening of December 10.

To echo Beijing's celebration, the National Palace of Culture at the Revolution Square of Nicaragua's capital Managua was illuminated in "China red" on the same day, celebrating the sincere friendship and common development of the two nations.

China and Nicaragua resumed diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level on December 10, 2021. Since then, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both sides, bilateral relations have developed rapidly, bearing much fruit in economic cooperation, trade, and people-to-people exchanges, among others.
