Making the most of its advantage in international exchanges, the Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal Government has worked hard to facilitate communication with the business community abroad, and provided much needed support for the city's enterprises in terms of resumption of operation and international cooperation. On July 20, BAIC Group, the Kuwait dealer First Trading Company and Kuwait Urban Logistics Association held a virtual signing ceremony for the contract of 500 anti-epidemic vehicles, the largest single deal for China's passenger car brand overseas since the outbreak. The vehicles will be used to help Kuwait fight the virus.
Early this year when China was at a crucial moment in its fight against coronavirus, Kuwait donated large amounts of much needed materials to us. Later when the epidemic broke out in Kuwait, BAIC Group donated 50 Auman water tank trucks to the country for sterilization and anti-virus work in its cities. During the video conference, Kuwaiti participants thanked Beijing for its help, deeming the deal an important sign of Beijing's strong support for its anti-epidemic efforts.
After the ceremony, the Foreign Affairs Office held a talk with BAIC on the Group's overseas operations. The two sides discussed how to leverage Beijing's sister-city ties to stabilize BAIC's overseas supply chains, and facilitate the resumption of its overseas operations, with a view of advancing the go-global efforts of the Beijing-based companies and boosting international cooperation.
