On July 4, more than 30 foreign influencers from over 25 countries including Brazil, Russia, Thailand, and Egypt visited the Yanqi Lake International Conference Resort, as part of the first offline shooting event of the 4th “Beijing - A Global City” Short Video Contest. In addition to the International Conference Resort, they also explored Mutianyu Great Wall and Haihao Film and Television Base in Huairou District, appreciating the beauty and grandeur of Yanqi Lake up close, marveling at the majestic time-honored Great Wall, and savoring the perfect integration of Beijing’s positions as both an ancient capital and a global city.
Stepping into Yanqi Lake International Conference Resort, the captivated influencers took photos, enjoyed distant views, and rambled in this picturesque “suburban garden in Beijing”. Inside the majestic Jixian Hall adorned with elements from the Han and Tang dynasties, they enthusiastically recommended the venue to their overseas followers on live streaming platforms while capturing various exquisite details in photographs. Outside the venue, they embarked on a leisurely exploration, appreciating the fascinating summer scenery with shimmering waters and lush landscapes. “Yanqi Lake is a great place to entertain guests. The gentle breeze and pleasant climate amidst green mountains and blue waters bring us tranquility and joy. The view from Yanqi Tower is breathtaking,” said Gizelle Amada Lanza Rodrígues, an influencer from Honduras.
In pursuing harmony, diversity is preserved. The Yanqi Lake International Conference Resort served as the main venue for the APEC China 2014 and two editions of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, embodying Beijing’s role as the center for international exchanges. Amid picturesque landscapes, influencers explored Beijing’s charm at this pivotal venue for diplomatic and major national events. Maksim Boitsov from Russia remarked, “With its scenic beauty, impeccable service, convenient location, and reputation as a renowned international convention resort, Yanqi Lake will be a stronger magnet, attracting for guests from around the world.”
In the height of summer, the ancient Great Wall winds like a giant dragon through verdant mountains, brimming with vitality. The influencers marveled at the splendid and breathtaking landscapes, declaring their journey to be highly rewarding. “The Great Wall stretches endlessly across the ridges; it’s truly awe-inspiring,” exclaimed a Thai influencer. “This ancient architecture is so grand and magnificent and it’s hard to imagine how people managed to create such a daunting engineering feat. It’s incredible. Only when you witness it personally can you truly realize the astonishing nature of the Chinese civilization,” said Moris Adrian Dieck Kattas from Mexico.
At the Haihao Film and Television Base, a series of professional and delicately designed film sets, such as the vivid pharmacy and operating room, and sci-fi space station and spacecraft, have gained compliments from these influencers. Katrina Neepo Jacob from Namibia hoped to see more films and TV series that tell “Beijing stories” from a global perspective.
More and more foreigners are coming to Beijing and falling in love with this city. Beijing has become increasingly captivating.
