On December 7, the third offline themed shooting event of the "Beijing·A Global City" Short Video Contest hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and organized by Guangming Online was held at the International-style Waterfront along Liangma River in Chaoyang District. Chinese and foreign staff and students from Beijing Technology and Business University, Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication, and others participated in the event.

Stunning Scenery with Impressive International Elements

The Liangma River connects many international communities and business circles in Beijing. The stunning light show, the integrated international elements, unique shops and restaurants along the river, and sufficient foreign language signs everywhere make the place very international. Themed on "international service environment", the third offline shooting event is designed to present Beijing's openness, inclusiveness, charm, fashion, harmony and livability.

A Cruise Tour on Liangma River at Night

Enjoying the splendid night scene, the Chinese and foreign staff and students who participated in the event were in high spirits, exclaiming, "It's so beautiful" and "How wonderful!". They took a cruise tour, visited shops and restaurants along the river, and recorded the charm of the International-style Waterfront with different shooting equipment. The fusion of culture and fashion and the presence of both scented tea and coffee allowed participants to experience the unique charm of Beijing, its tradition, modernness, vigor and diversity. As the night wind blew, their faces turned red. The cold weather did not diminish their enthusiasm to capture the place's beauty.

Zheng Aoying from Beijing Technology and Business University said, "It is the first time that I have taken a boat tour along the Liangma River at night. The introduction of the dome's history, the fantastic light show, and the three characteristic bridges not only show the profound cultural heritage of this area, but also highlight its current international positioning and characteristics. As a gathering place for foreigners, the waterfront along Liangma River is a nice destination for friends from all over the world to visit."

"Beijing· A Global City" Short Video Contest was first held in 2021. The event attracted a lot of participants and received positive responses. To date, more than 200 entries have been received, which cover the personal experience of international friends in Beijing and the best wishes from overseas friends online. The entries are of high quality in terms of creativity and shooting skills.

With the contest coming to an end, two offline shooting events have been successfully held under the themes of "serving the country's overall diplomacy" and "Winter Olympics". Another offline shooting event themed on "international medical care" will be held at the international department of hospitals. Also, the contest has now entered the shortlisting stage.
