On July 9, the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau and Beijing Foreign Affairs Office co-hosted a special roadshow on Beijing’s policies for the convention and exhibition industry, as well as a dedicated matchmaking session for international event buyer delegations, aiming to attract more international convention and exhibition projects to the city. Representatives from national industry associations and chambers of commerce, key convention and exhibition venues and enterprises, as well as international event organizations and buyers, attended the sessions.

Policy Briefing

The Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau gave a special presentation on the industrial foundations of the capital’s convention and exhibition sector, venue capacity, policy support system, business environment, and support services. It highlighted innovative measures such as Beijing’s incentive policies for boosting the convention and exhibition industry, the coordinated service mechanism at municipal and district levels, and the “one event, one tailored solution” service model, providing more efficient and convenient government services for industry players to hold exhibitions and conferences in Beijing.

The Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Chaoyang District, and Shunyi District delivered special briefings on the “one-stop” processing for large-scale exhibition events, support services for major events, Beijing’s MICE tourism and inbound tourism-related affairs, as well as regional industrial resources and support policies for the convention and exhibition sector.

Resource Showcasing

Representatives from key venues and enterprises, including the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, China National Convention Center, Capital International Exhibition & Convention Center, Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center, Beijing Exhibition Center, and CTG MICE Service Company Limited, made presentations on their venue resources, operational capabilities, support services, and unique advantages, showcasing Beijing’s well-established convention and exhibition infrastructure and service capabilities across the entire industry chain.

Venue Visits

Beijing Foreign Affairs Office invited representatives from 30 national industry associations and chambers of commerce to visit the Capital International Convention Center and Exhibition Center. They gained an in-depth understanding of various conference venues at the Convention Center, including plenary halls and grand ballrooms, as well as the intelligent operations center and various exhibition halls at the Exhibition Center. They also learned about the one-stop, closed-loop service model integrating “exhibitions, conferences, banquets, and accommodation” established in collaboration with nearby hotels.

A dedicated matchmaking session for buyer delegations of international convention and exhibition events brought together representatives from international organizations and renowned international convention and exhibition enterprises, including the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO), the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC), and the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA). Through policy briefings, resource showcasing, and supply-demand matchmaking, the session further deepened cooperation between Beijing and international convention and exhibition partners, and attracted more international conferences, exhibitions, and resources to Beijing.
