From July 24 to 26, the Seventh China-Africa People’s Forum & the Seventh China-Africa Young Leaders Forum, co-hosted by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, was held in Hunan Province.
The “Silk Road People-to-People Connectivity: China-Africa People’s Partnership Plan (2024-2026)” was released at the opening ceremony as part of the efforts to implement President Xi Jinping’s principle of “sincerity, real results, amity and good faith” for China’s Africa policy, and promote China-Africa non-governmental cooperation in a pragmatic way. Tasks outlined in the document include establishing 89 practical and effective platforms in the coming three years, implementing “small yet smart” people-centered programs, and conducting diverse cultural and people-to-people exchange activities. These initiatives, focused on important sectors such as youth, poverty reduction, education, science and technology, healthcare, and environmental protection, aim to enhance the well-being of the two peoples and contribute to the building of a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
A total of 11 projects recommended by Beijing were selected for the outcome document, ranking first nationwide. The 11 projects include two from national industry associations and chambers of commerce in Beijing that have decoupled from administrative organs, one from people’s organization, two from municipal universities, five from municipal social organizations and one from private enterprise. This represents the non-governmental efforts made by Beijing to the building of a China-Africa community with a shared future.
