On October 27, the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office arranged a visit by the China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation (CAPIAC) and the Netherlands Agro, Food & Technology Centre (NAFTC) to Pinggu District. The two organizations engaged in in-depth discussions with local officials on the establishment of a cooperation platform in agriculture and expanding people-to-people exchanges between Chinese and Dutch enterprises. Di Tao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Pinggu District Committee and District Mayor, and Ina Enting, Director of the NAFTC, attended the event.
Di Tao warmly welcomed the two organizations and highlighted the rapid development of High-Tech Farming Z-Park. Pinggu District has been enhancing cooperation with institutions, universities, and enterprises, including the European Union, Wageningen University & Research, and Bayer, which has led to increased international agricultural exchanges. It is hoped that both parties can establish a regular communication mechanism to expedite the registration of NAFTC in Pinggu. This will promote projects including the R&D and exhibition center of the Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Forum, and the pilot zone for agricultural opening-up and cooperation.
Ina Enting stressed the commitment of NAFTC to building a platform for exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Dutch enterprises. The goal is to facilitate the application and commercialization of advanced Dutch technology in China, propelling mutual development in agriculture. In addition, she expressed the willingness to leverage this platform to strengthen the project cooperation between agricultural sci-tech enterprises in the Netherlands and Pinggu District, thereby advancing the agricultural technology in Pinggu District.
