China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) invited representatives from 13 British trade agencies and advanced manufacturing companies, including the British Embassy's Department for Business and Trade, the China-Britain Business Council, London & Partners, Oxford Instruments, and HSBC, to visit the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) Administrative Commission on March 10 to learn about BDA development plan and industrial policies, visit enterprises in BDA, and exchange views with CCCME member companies.
A person in charge from the BDA said this event has expanded the channels for BDA to attract key foreign-funded projects in the intelligent manufacturing industry, and hoped the two sides would continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the future. Tom Duke, Minister Counsellor of the British Embassy in China and Deputy Trade Commissioner to China expressed the willingness to further strengthen mutual exchanges and said that the British side stood ready to provide assistance to Chinese-funded enterprises that were seeking opportunities in trade and investment or advanced technologies and equipment in the UK.
In recent years, fully leveraging its role in managing foreign affairs of Beijing-based national industry associations and chambers of commerce delinked from the government, Beijing Foreign Affairs Office has actively engaged the national industry associations and chambers of commerce in Beijing's high-quality economic development, and built platforms of exchanges to match the supply and demand between Chinese and foreign enterprises.
